Product Overview

The Trusted® TMR 24 Vdc Digital Input module is designed to interface with up to 40 field input devices. It achieves fault tolerance through a Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) architecture within the module, ensuring redundancy and reliability for each of the 40 input channels.

Each field input undergoes triplication, and the input voltage is precisely measured using a sigma-delta input circuit. The measured field voltage is then compared to user-configurable threshold voltages to determine the reported field input state. Additionally, when a line-monitoring device is connected at the field switch, the module can detect open and short-circuit field cables. Line monitoring functions are independently configurable for each input channel. The triplicated voltage measurement, combined with onboard diagnostic testing, offers comprehensive fault detection and tolerance.

The module includes onboard Sequence of Events (SOE) reporting with a resolution of 1 ms. Any change of state triggers an SOE entry, and states are defined based on voltage thresholds that can be configured on a per-channel basis.

TϋV Certified IEC 61508 SIL 3: The module is TϋV certified to meet safety standards and is suitable for critical applications with a SIL 3 safety integrity level according to IEC 61508.
