The ICS Triplex T8311  TrustedTM TMR Expander Interface module is an integral part of the TrustedTM Controller Chassis. It serves as the primary interface between the Inter-Module Bus (IMB) within the Controller Chassis and the Expander Bus. The Expander Bus is designed to facilitate the connection of multiple chassis systems using UTP cable connections while retaining the fault-tolerant, high-bandwidth capabilities of the IMB.

This module plays a crucial role in fault containment for the Expander Bus, the module itself, and the IMB located in the Controller Chassis. It ensures that any potential faults are localized, thereby maximizing system availability. The module is designed with fault tolerance using the Hardware Implemented Fault Tolerant (HIFT) architecture.
