Installation of T9110 Processor Module:
Pre-Installation Steps:
- Examine the new processor module for any damage.
- Record the module’s location and details from the label as the labels will be hidden after installation.
- Ensure all processor modules have the same firmware build if installing multiple.
Installation Steps:
- Check the coding pegs on the T9100 processor base unit and match them with the sockets on the rear of the processor module.
- Place the processor module onto the coding pegs, ensuring the slot on the module locking screw’s head is vertical. Push the module in until connectors are fully mated.
- Use a broad (9mm) flat blade screwdriver to turn the module locking screw clockwise to lock it in place. Note that this screw acts as a power interlock; the module won’t boot if not locked.
Replacing Faulty Processor Backup Battery:
Use the recommended Rockwell Automation battery (Part No: T9905) or an equivalent:
- Polycarbon monofluoride Lithium Coin Battery, BR2032
- Nominal voltage: 3 V
- Nominal capacity: 190 mAh
- Operating temperature: -30°C to +80°C
Battery Replacement Procedure:
- Use a small cross-head screwdriver to release and remove the battery cover.
- Remove the battery by pulling on the blue ribbon. Caution: mishandling can cause explosion; do not recharge, disassemble, or burn.
- Insert a new battery with the positive (+) terminal to the right. Trap the ribbon behind the new battery. Push the battery into the holder.
- Secure the cover with a cross-head screw.
- Press the Fault Reset button on the processor module to update the clock. Green LED indicates a healthy processor if the module is part of a running system.
Setting Real Time Clock Manually:
For single controllers without a time server, set the processor’s real-time clock manually using RTC variables.
Date and Time Setting Procedure:
- Wire processor variables and build/download the program.
- In Debug mode, force the RTC Read Boolean and RTC Control Rack Variable time fields to TRUE.
- RTC Status Variables display the current date and time.
- Set the date and time in RTC Program Rack Variables.
- Toggle RTC Write variable TRUE then FALSE to write new settings.
- RTC Status rack displays new date and time.

- Match coding pegs on termination assembly with sockets on new I/O module.
- Place I/O module onto dowel pins on T9300 I/O base unit. Push module home until connectors are mated.
- Turn module clamp screw’s slot vertical and push until connectors fully mate with I/O base unit.
- Turn locking screw a quarter turn clockwise using a broad (9mm) flat blade screwdriver. This screw acts as power interlock and must be locked for configuration.
