The TU847 is a Module Termination Unit (MTU) for the redundant configuration of the CI840/CI840A field communication interface. It is a passive unit with the following features:

- Service Tool Connections: Includes two service tool ports for maintenance.
- Rotary Switches: Features two rotary switches for station address settings (0 to 99).

- Mechanical Keying: Prevents incorrect module insertion with four mechanical keys, offering 36 configuration options.
