Overview
The SPA-ZC 400EM connects REF 541/3/5, REM 543/5, or RET 541/3/5 devices to the IEC 61850-8-1 Station bus. IEC 61850 is the new standard for substation communication. It supports substation automation functions and the engineering process.
The SPA-ZC 400 uses GOOSE messaging for fast communication between Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs). This allows devices to share interlocking and blocking information. Additionally, it enables Ethernet access to an IED using SPA over TCP/IP and Modbus over TCP/IP.
Key Features
The SPA-ZC 400 allows for dual-port communication with fibre-optic SPA and LON® connections. The device’s installation and commissioning details are in Chapter 5 and Chapter 6 of the manual.
