The Power Supply Distribution Module (PSD) 10303/1/1 module is exclusively used in configurations featuring redundant Central Parts and non-redundant I/O. It serves the purpose of consolidating the output from the power supply units (PSUs) in the redundant Central Parts into a single 5 Vdc supply for the non-redundant I/O section of the system. One power supply distribution module is required for each PSU module.

Additionally, the power supply to the Central Part must pass through this module to ensure an equal voltage drop to both the Central Part and the I/O section. Due to the stringent limits on the 5 Vdc power supply (± 5%), it is crucial to position the PSD modules adjacent to the PSU modules to minimize voltage drop in the wiring. The minimum wire diameter recommended is 2.5 mm² (AWG 14).
It’s important to note that the PSD module should only be exchanged when the power supply to its PSU is switched off.
