The 3500/22M Transient Data Interface (TDI) module is designed as a communication interface between the 3500 monitoring system and compatible software, such as System 1 Condition Monitoring and 3500 System Configuration software.
Key Features:
- Functionality:
- Combines the functions of a 3500/20 Rack Interface Module (RIM) with the data collection capability of communication processors like TDXnet.
- Collects both steady-state and transient dynamic (waveform) data continuously, sending it through an Ethernet link to the host software.
- Data Capture:
- Static data capture is built-in.
- Dynamic and high-resolution transient data can be captured with the use of an optional Channel Enabling Disk.
- Installation:
- The TDI is installed in Slot 1 of the 3500 rack, next to the power supplies, and communicates with M-series monitors like 3500/40M and 3500/42M.
- Non-Critical Role:
- While it performs important data collection functions, the TDI is not part of the critical monitoring path, meaning it doesn’t affect the core operations of the machinery protection system.
Requirements:
- Slot: Every 3500 rack requires either a TDI or RIM to function correctly.
