Honeywell to Drive Automation and Energy Efficiency at Melton Hospital
Honeywell has been selected as the building automation provider for Victoria’s first all-electric hospital, the Melton Hospital. This collaboration will optimize operational efficiency and reduce energy consumption, aligning with the state’s net-zero emissions goal by 2050.
A 25-Year Commitment to Energy Efficiency
Under a 25-year agreement, Honeywell will deploy advanced building management systems powered by Honeywell Forge Enterprise Performance Management software. This integration continuously enhances energy efficiency. Additionally, Honeywell’s software will enable condition-based maintenance, improving system resiliency and reducing unplanned downtime.
Victoria’s First Fully Electric Hospital
As the first all-electric hospital in Victoria, Melton Hospital contributes to the state’s net-zero emissions ambition by 2050. The hospital’s design incorporates Ecologically Sustainable Development (ESD) technologies. These ensure efficient energy and water usage, reduced peak energy demand, and future adaptability to climatic and societal changes.
Honeywell Forge for Energy Usage Optimization
Honeywell’s Forge IoT platform will evaluate energy usage in real-time, automatically optimizing settings for maximum energy savings. The system ensures that air quality and operational efficiency are maintained while reducing energy costs. Continuous machine learning will further optimize hospital operations and sustainability.
Enhancing Operational Efficiency and Care for Patients
The hospital will provide a 24-hour A&E department, maternity services, mental health units, radiology, and a new education hub for medical professionals. Honeywell‘s solutions are vital for maintaining optimal building performance, creating a comfortable environment for both patients and staff, and ensuring high-quality patient care.
Supporting Public-Private Partnerships and Long-Term Maintenance
The Melton Hospital project is a public-private partnership. Western Health operates the clinical services, while the Exemplar Health consortium manages financing, design, construction, and long-term maintenance. Honeywell will ensure that hospital systems remain efficient and sustainable for the next 25 years as the facilities management provider.
Honeywell Expertise in Building Automation and Critical Infrastructure
With more than 30 years of experience in the Australian healthcare and critical infrastructure sectors, Honeywell is uniquely positioned to lead this project. The company’s state-of-the-art building automation solutions will set a new benchmark for energy-efficient healthcare facilities at Melton Hospital.
