3300 XL 8mm Proximity Transducer System Datasheet
The 3300 XL 8mm Proximity Transducer System by Bently Nevada Machinery Condition Monitoring is designed to replace older Proximitor Sensor designs while offering improved features. The system can be mounted using a base that provides electrical isolation, eliminating the need for separate isolator plates. The 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor is highly resistant to radio frequency interference, allowing installation in fiberglass housings without being affected by nearby radio frequency signals. It meets European CE mark approvals without requiring special shielded conduit or metallic housings, resulting in reduced installation costs and complexity.
Key Features and Improvements:
- SpringLoc terminal strips for faster and more secure field wiring connections.
- Patented TipLoc molding method for a robust bond between the probe tip and the probe body.
- Patented CableLoc design in the probe’s cable for added pull strength (330 N or 75 lbf) to securely attach the probe cable and tip.
- Optional FluidLoc cable option to prevent oil and liquid leakage through the cable’s interior.
- Corrosion-resistant, gold-plated ClickLoc connectors for easy installation and removal with no special tools required.
- Connector protectors for increased environmental protection are available for both factory and field installations.
- Extended Temperature Range (ETR) probe and extension cable options for applications exceeding standard temperature specifications.
Important Notes:
- One-meter systems do not use an extension cable.
- Proximitor sensors are factory calibrated to AISI 4140 steel, but calibration to other target materials is available upon request.
- Consider the Bently Nevada Applications Note for Overspeed Protection Applications when using the system for tachometer or overspeed measurements.
- Mixing XL and non-XL 3300-series 5 mm and 8 mm system components limits system performance to the specifications of the non-XL 3300 Transducer System.
- The 3300-series 5 mm probe may be used when physical constraints preclude the use of an 8 mm probe, but it does not reduce side view clearances or tip-to-tip spacing requirements.
- 8 mm probes offer a more rugged design and optimal robustness against physical abuse compared to 5 mm probes.
